For this collaboration I decided to work with a friend on a short performance piece that we could deliver to a live audience. My initial idea is to create a noise set around the idea of a nurse and doctor. I’m currently looking online for victorian medical equipment such as stethoscopes and tongs which i can mic using clip mics. I think props or sound objects such as rubber gloves will be interesting to experiment with and will produce interesting textures of sound. I was also thinking about using potentially either a synth or an actual heart rate machine to generate beep sounds. This performance is inspired by the idea of a dream or nightmare involving being at the doctors brought on by personal experiences involving medical procedures as a child and adult and working nightshifts in dementia care-homes. The doctor and nurse will be performing surgery onto someone who will lay on a table. They will also have a mic on and heir heart beat will be recorded and amplified.

britney mics for doctor to deliver orders to nurse ( this will come through the tape machine and into (amp?) for distortion
nurse and doctor will talk to each other doctor giving orders nurse responds pateint is not part of dialog.
dialog will be rehearsed or pre written bu everything else will be improvised
heart beat from patient will set pace and dialog between doctor and nurse will intereact with this.
will use medical instruments as traditional instruments.
