Personal Vision Statement
Before joining this course I was studying fine art. I joined this course to develop my skills in the technical side of sound in place where I had access to in person knowledge\guidance and equipment so that I can experiment and explore in this new field. For me all mediums are linked and I follow whichever one brings me excitement and has things to show me. I don’t have an extensive background in music/sound however I have interest and some experience . Music connects to the feeling of childhood and gives me access to a more confident and energetic version of myself.
I would like to feel more confident in my musical ability. I want to be able to relay ideas in my head into reality and so I need to find a balance working with technology\making it work for me. This course gives me the time to build up enough work and hopefully my identity as a sound artist and therefore I will continue making work after this course with the connections and skills I have gained
Each time I make a piece of music or paint or write I feel it become more truthful like more and more excess of me is being scraped away; all the parts I don’t need anymore. If I stop for a while it all starts growing back and then it starts seeping into my brain like a toxic fungus clogging up my senses. Doing this is the only time I feel like ‘myself’ and so I continue to do it and hopefully it will take me to more places and people that are like me.
