Sound Art to me is the exploration of sound through the lens of Fine Art. Exploring the depth of sound links us closer to our sensitivity and awareness to the world around us therefore giving us a more extensive palette to work from.
Throughout this course i am going to focus myself into the world of sound and become more aware of what i’m listening to and how sound works and how to manipulate and work with it in the form of Art.
Previously I have been inspired by Throbbing Gristle, Maya Deren and John Cage among others and i am interested to learn more about the pioneers of ‘Sound Art’ and other Sound Artists.
To me sound like no other sense can channel emotion in a way that every language can understand even deaf people can be emoted by the vibrations of sound. Sound carries frequencies that can bring forth action or bring someone into a meditation. Sound exists in an untouchable dimension.
