komplete Kontrol experiment on Ableton.

I switched onto purple mode by pressing (cmd M) then I inverted the detune control to zero and then all the way up on the other side and assigned it to the same knob on the midi keyboard. After doing this I was able to get a strange uneasy effect and change the tuning of the notes I recorded into Ableton whilst they were playing. I also did the same thing to the sustain and other elements of control and was able to get an interesting effect. I will experiment with this further and understand how to record this while doing it live in Ableton.

In this session we also learnt about different apps you can use to alter notes and manipulate sound. The endlessness of this made me feel excited but slightly uneasy as where is the end to what you can do ? It feels quite far removed from what excites me about working with sound as a medium but I admire its value. I also think its helpful for problem solving in areas like live performance. Personally I have found an affinity for using Logic X Pro as it works well for recording audio and performance based work.
