Sound Objects Sampling and Music Concrete
In this session we learnt about Music concrete and sound objects. We took house hold objects such as cups and saucers and made sound from them. We then sampled these sounds found the best area to loop then took that and edited out any unwanted sounds.
I completed this task at home using the dripping of the tap into a washing up bowl. I balanced a metallic pan inside the sink and added a small amount of water to get the desired sound. I left in the sound of church bells in the background as personally I liked this element.
I took the initial drip sound and cut it up and looped it into a beat . I cross faded elements to get rid of a harsh transitions. I then added a a Low pass filter and adjusted the EQ to cut off the high end of the drip sound to make it sound more like it was a drip and cut the high resonance sound that made it confusing to what you were hearing.
